MISSING THE BEACH

Looking back, I remember how a friend of mine guessed that my favourite place was the beach. I didn’t think too much of it at the time. Perhaps he knew me a bit better than I knew myself. Perhaps it had been a lucky guess. Now I can see that he was right. The beach was my happy place. I can sit in the sand all day, and watch the waves. The sun made an appearance that day.

I like it best in mid-day, though the colours are lovely at dusk.

I miss days like this at the beach in the South Coast just as much as I miss you.

SUNNY DAYS

Whenever I’m stuck in my studio space working on projects, or just being a bum at home, I always yearn for the beach during sunny days like this.

The photos were taken at the South Coast. I wish I was there right now, instead of staring at a desk piled with books.

SCULPTURES BY THE SEA 2011

Since I was a little girl, going to exhibitions and art-related stuff has always been my thing. I think that a certain love for the art world will always remain in my heart regardless of where I am and who I’m with. In this case, my Mum and I went to the SCULPTURES BY THE SEA exhibition with my Nana and my step-dad. Coincidentally, the beautiful Princess Mary of Denmark, and her husband Prince Frederick were meant to be there in Bondi to award the outstanding sculptures.

I know that this is a month or so late. So many things have happened in the course of a month- that I’ve neglected to post photos that I had taken. Anyway… Here are a few of my favourite shots of the day.

The sculpture of the reindeer looking out to the ocean was my favourite. I think it’s title was equally as poetic. “When I grow up, I want to be a tree” or something along those lines.

Next year, I will make sure that I visit the SCULPTURES when there are remarkably less people and more opportunities to take photos. SCULPTURES BY THE SEA is held in between Bondi and Tamarama beach every November.

These photos were taken during my short holiday at the South Coast. I’m glad I managed to catch some sun while I was there.

One of the Olympic arenas. For kayaking, I think… Yes, again at Ballarat.

They held a part of the Olympics here. The scenery is quite quaint, right? Again at Ballarat.

It resembles a European city, but it is in fact the heart of Ballarat. I miss it.

This photo is really poetic in its own right. Taken during a family holiday in Ballarat a month ago.

This was taken at Leichardt in Sydney a couple of months ago. This has a similar style to the photo taken near Glebe.

Taken using my Samsung ES55 point and shoot.

I took this photo earlier in the year. I have a love for retro-styled photos (characterized by soft focus and unexpected colour contrasts).
